The Malev and Wizz Air are the two major airlines that flies to Madrid, Spain. From Budapest (BUD) to Madrid (MAD), is just a short flight of 3 hours 20 minutes non-stop. So we flew to Madrid.

One of the must-see we must recommend here in the BudapestZIN is the Royal Palace. It is the largest royal palace in Western Europe. You must also see the Puerta del Sol, the best known square. Today there will be demonstrators there, you probably cannot see its wide area like before.

Plaza Mayor, Templo de Debod, Madrid Cathedral, Plaza de la Villa, Torre de Lujanes, Casa de Cisneros and Casa de la Villa.

One of Madrid icon is the old city gate called Puerta de Alcala. You should not miss Madrid's famous street, Gran Via.

I like the Plaza de Cibeles, it is a central square where Real Madrid celebrates championship wins and home to the Bank of Spain. Lots of squares in Madrid including the Plaza de Oriente which is right in front of the Royal Palace.

When in Spain, do what the Spanish do :) Watch a flamenco dance, see a bullfight, watch how the Real Madrid play in the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. These are some unique experiences to bring home.

Botin is the world's oldest restaurant where you can eat your heart's out (Botin is recorded in the world's Guinness Book of Records).

What to eat? Of course, tapas, it is the quintessential Spanish food. For snacks, you must check out the chocolate con churros.

If you like panoramic views of the capital's best sights, take a cable car right.

Garden of Beautiful Brassicas

Our favourite is the romantic walk in the Retiro Park where there is a boating lake, rose-garden and large brassicas garden.

Flea market goers, you don't want to miss the Rastro.
